【Room Review】Tokyo Disneyland Hotel — Is It Worth It?

Hotel Review

If you’re planning a Tokyo Disney trip and considering which hotel to stay at, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is one of the most iconic choices — and for good reason. In this post, I’ll walk you through everything from the room details to the hidden perks you don’t want to miss.

【Room Review】¥270,000 per night !?Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel Grand Chateau — Is It Worth?
I stayed at Tokyo Disney's most expensive hotel — the Fantasy Springs Hotel Grand Chateau. Here's my honest room review, including the exclusive Mickey greeting, balcony views, and whether it's truly worth ¥300,000!

Here’s what’s covered:

  • 🛏️ Room details — layout, beds, and Disney touches throughout
  • 🧴 Amenities — including the take-home items you absolutely shouldn’t leave behind
  • 🏛️ Hotel facilities — lobby, shops, and a few things nobody talks about
  • ⭐ Guest perks — Happy Entry and more
  • 💰 Honest verdict — who should book this hotel and who shouldn’t

🛏️ The Room: Standard Superior Alcove Room (Floors 1–9)

Room Type & Layout

I stayed in the Standard Superior Alcove Room, which comes with:

  • 2 twin beds (main sleeping area)
  • 1 alcove bed (tucked into a cozy nook)
  • Option to add a trundle bed for a 4th guest if needed
Alcove bed

This room sleeps up to 4 people, making it a great option for families or small groups. On this trip it was just the two of us, so the alcove bed had a very important alternative use — a dedicated photo studio for all the souvenirs we bought. 😄

✨ The Disney Touches

The theming throughout the room is genuinely lovely. Mickey and Minnie appear in subtle details everywhere you look — in the patterns, the decor, the furniture. There are even nods to Beauty and the Beast characters tucked in here and there if you look closely.

It manages to feel both whimsical and luxurious at the same time, which isn’t easy to pull off. This doesn’t feel like a themed kids’ room — it feels like a genuinely high-end hotel that happens to have Disney magic woven into every corner.

🚿 The Bathroom

The bathroom is well-appointed and fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash

🎁 Amenities: The Take-Home Treasures

This is the section I really want you to pay attention to — because these details get overlooked far too often.

On the vanity, you’ll find a full set of amenities laid out neatly. (Photo below!) Here’s the key thing: everything you see there is yours to take home — including the yellow plastic cup.

That cup might seem like a small thing, but every Disney hotel has its own unique design, and collecting them across stays is genuinely fun. The MiraCosta version looks completely different — (photo below for comparison!) — and building a little collection over time is one of my favorite low-key Disney traditions.

The eco bag on the room’s table is also yours to keep — and again, the design varies by hotel. Another one worth collecting!

— and again, the design varies by hotel. Another one worth collecting! The MiraCosta version is like this!

Inside the bedside table drawer, you’ll find a postcard featuring a Tokyo Disneyland Hotel exclusive design. Take it home. Frame it. It’s free and it’s lovely.

And don’t miss the slippers! The room comes with a pair of Mickey Mouse slippers — perfect for padding around the room after a long day at the park. Wear them, love them, and yes — take them home. They’re yours! A small but genuinely charming touch that’s very on-brand for a Disney hotel.

💡 You’re paying a significant amount to stay here — don’t leave without the take-home amenities! The cup, the eco bag, and the postcard are easy to overlook in the rush of a Disney trip. Make a mental note before checkout.

📱 Room Key: Your Phone Works!

If your Tokyo Disney Resort app is linked to your reservation, your smartphone becomes your room key. Tap and go.

If you prefer a physical card, just ask at reception — they’ll provide one. Just remember: physical key cards must be returned at checkout, so don’t accidentally pack it in your bag!

🏛️ Hotel Facilities

The Lobby

Walking into the lobby of Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is a moment. Think grand chandeliers, a central fountain, and an overall atmosphere that feels genuinely opulent. It’s the kind of entrance that makes you feel like you’ve arrived somewhere special — because you have.

Shops & Boutique

The hotel has several in-house shopping options:

  • convenience store-style shop for snacks and essentials
  • Disney merchandise shop for character goods
  • Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique — a princess makeover experience for children, attached to the merchandise shop (reservation required)

If you’re traveling with little ones who dream of becoming a Disney princess for a day, this boutique is a huge draw — and having it right inside your hotel makes the logistics so much easier.

🚬 The Smoking Room (Yes, Really)

This one doesn’t get talked about much, but it’s worth knowing: there is one designated smoking room in the hotel, located on the lobby floor — follow the left corridor from the lobby.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere else in the hotel, so all smokers end up here. The room itself was surprisingly spacious and — true to the rest of the hotel — even the smoking room had a sense of luxury about it. Only at a Disney hotel! 😄

⭐ Guest Perks

Happy Entry

Happy Entry was seamless on our stay. We were inside Disneyland within minutes of the early admission gates opening.

A couple of important notes:

⚠️ Tokyo Disneyland Hotel qualifies for Disneyland Happy Entry only — not DisneySea Happy Entry. If early entry to DisneySea is a priority for you, you’ll need to consider a different hotel.

⚠️ Happy Entry is valid the morning after check-in — not on your check-in day itself. Plan your itinerary accordingly!

For a full picture of how Happy Entry played out on our actual park day, check out the Disneyland Day 1 post here 👉

💰 Honest Verdict

The Good

  • 📍 Location is unbeatable — Disneyland is literally right outside the door
  • 🏰 The exterior is stunning — one of the most photogenic hotels at the resort
  • 📅 Easier to book than MiraCosta or Fantasy Springs Hotel — no need to set an alarm for the reservation opening date (though popular room types can still sell out)
  • 💰 More affordable than the top-tier Disney hotels, while still delivering a genuinely premium experience

Worth Knowing

  • 🏨 It’s a large hotel — which means more guests, and the entrance area can get busy in the mornings
  • 🌊 No DisneySea Happy Entry — if you’re a DisneySea-first person, factor this in

👨‍👩‍👧 Who Is This Hotel Best For?

Honestly? Families with young children are the ones who get the most out of this hotel.

Here’s my thinking: families with kids tend to prioritize Disneyland over DisneySea, so the location right at the Disneyland entrance is perfect. Being close to the park also means you can duck back to the room for a proper nap — far better than trying to get a toddler to sleep in a noisy park.

Add the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique onsite, and it’s easy to see why this hotel is a go-to for families.

That said — as someone who stayed here as an adult couple on a Vacation Package? It was wonderful. The location, the room, the atmosphere — all of it delivered.

💡 The Bottom Line
