🏝️ What Is Polynesian Terrace Restaurant?
Polynesian Terrace Restaurant is a show dining restaurant inside Tokyo Disneyland — meaning you enjoy a full meal while watching a live performance featuring Disney characters on stage.
The show on offer is Mickey’s Rainbow Luau — a lively Polynesian-themed celebration featuring Mickey, Minnie, and their friends performing songs and dances inspired by Hawaii and Tahiti. Characters also come to your table during the show for a greeting — no separate meet-and-greet queue required.
It’s a particularly great option for families with young children, but honestly, any Disney fan will love it.

Tickets are priced by seat location — closer to the stage means a higher price:
| Seat Type | Price | What You Get |
|---|---|---|
| S Seat | ¥6,500 | Closest to the stage — best views, most character interaction |
| A Seat | ¥6,000 | Mid-range — good overall view |
| B Seat | ¥5,500 | Further from the stage |
💡 Food and the show are included in the ticket price. Drinks are ordered and paid for separately.
💡 If you book through a Vacation Package, your seats will be S Seats — and you can book earlier than the standard 1-month window. A great option if you want the best view without competing in the reservation rush!
🍽️ My Visit: What It Was Like

We visited for lunch and had A Seats — though our specific seats within the A section were toward the back, closer to B Seat territory in terms of distance from the stage.
Setting the Scene
On arrival, the table was set with:
- 🍴 Cutlery
- 🗒️ A paper placemat and a small Polynesian Terrace brochure
- 🌸 A flower bracelet (kupee)
That flower bracelet immediately became an ear headband accessory for me — clipped right onto my Mickey ears. Highly recommend! 😄
The atmosphere inside is genuinely immersive — warm, tropical, and thoroughly Polynesian. It feels like a different world from the rest of the park.
🍽️ The Food

The menu is Hawaii-inspired plate dining — a set meal with a Polynesian theme.
(I forgot to photograph the dessert — classic me. For full current menu details, check the official Tokyo Disney Resort website!)

Food arrived before the show began, giving everyone time to settle in. A cast member also came around to take commemorative photos of each table — a lovely touch.
About 10–15 minutes after the food arrived, the show began. You can continue eating throughout the performance — in fact, that’s the whole point!
🎭 The Show: Mickey’s Rainbow Luau

Mickey’s Rainbow Luau is a vibrant Polynesian celebration in which Mickey, Minnie, and their Disney friends perform songs and dances inspired by the islands of Hawaii and Tahiti.
Every character gets their own moment to shine:
- 🐭 Mickey’s dance — genuinely impressive. Cool, energetic, and surprisingly athletic
- 🐭 Minnie’s dance — adorable. Probably my favorite part of the whole show
- 🎶 Group musical numbers — lively and fun, with full Polynesian costuming throughout

Character Table Greetings

During the show, characters visit every single table for a greeting. You won’t get time for autographs or posed photos, but getting a high-five or a wave from Mickey at close range is an experience in itself — and kids absolutely love it.
💡 The closer your seat is to the stage, the more likely you are to catch the characters’ attention during the show — and maybe get a little extra fan service! This is where S Seats really earn their price difference.

Book Now →💡 My Honest Verdict

Polynesian Terrace Restaurant is a genuinely wonderful experience — and one I’d recommend to any Tokyo Disneyland visitor.
The theming is consistent and immersive throughout, the show is entertaining and well-produced, and the combination of dining + character interaction + live performance in one sitting is hard to beat for value of experience.
That said — seat choice matters a lot here.
My A Seats placed us quite far from the stage, and while we enjoyed the show, I could clearly see how much more engaging the experience would be from S Seats. If you’re going to do this, I’d genuinely recommend going for S Seats if your budget allows.
| S Seat | A Seat | B Seat | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage proximity | ✅ Closest | 🟡 Mid | ❌ Furthest |
| Character interaction | ✅ Most likely | 🟡 Good | 🟡 Still happens |
| Price | ¥6,500 | ¥6,000 | ¥5,500 |
| Worth it? | ✅ Absolutely | ✅ Yes | 🟡 If budget is a factor |
